This workshop is aimed helping painters develop their skills and vision through hands-on tutorials, image presentations on painting, one-to-one instruction, and group discussions. Participants should have some experience in painting, but no one should feel intimidated by his/her skill level. The course material will be tailored to the level of the individual student. Since the workshop is only one week in duration, the instructor's emphasis will be on growth, and in people gaining knowledge and understanding to take home. If you want to intensify your relationship to painting, develop your skills, define or develop your imagery, or just plain paint for a week in beautiful surroundings, this course is right for you.
The workshop will use the town of Vittorio Veneto to make short morning excursions that explore its historic art, architecture, public places and surrounding countryside. Students are free to use these excursions as source material for their paintings, or to continue to explore their own imagery, be it representational or abstract. Days will be punctuated by delicious meals prepared at the Palazzo Galletti, a restored 14th century palace, where people will be housed. As is typical of Italy, the week will be both stimulating and sybaritic!
