Venice & Surrounds painting Workshop

The Region:  The Veneto is in the northeast part of Italy. It extends from Venice, in the lagoon of the Adriatic Sea, all the way up to the Dolomite mountains. That's  the region with a thousand different faces, and it is one of Italy’s custodians of natural, artistic, and traditional treasures.
Where You’ll Stay:  Serravalle is a hidden, medieval gem, just 60 kilometers from Venice and north of Treviso. Nestled in the foothills of the Dolomites, it is the historic
center of Vittorio Veneto, a city created in 1886 by the merging of two towns, Ceneda and Serravalle.
Your Accommodation:  You will stay in the Palazzo Galletti B&B Boutique Hotel*. This historic, 14th century Palazzo offers three beautifully restored, elegant and modern rooms with en-suite bathroom, fridge, air conditioning, heating, dining area, and free Wi-Fi internet. You will be able to relax in the magnificent romantic garden, experience the finest and tastiest organic Italian cuisine and meet with other guests in our stylish and comfortable living room and library. There is a large studio where critiques can be held, or paintings finished in case of bad weather.

Painting:  Please bring and work in the medi​um(s) you prefer: oil, watercolor, pastel or drawing. There is a wealth of subjects to paint from, including townscapes and architecturally interesting buildings, landscapes with mountains, vineyards, and even rivers and water.
Other Included Activities:  Activities will include optional walking tour of the historic centre and the local markets and cooking class, one full one-day guided tours. Other suggested optional Activities, not included: Wine tasting tour of Prosecco vineyards.
Instructor
Janet is an established Melbourne based professional artist with works secured by international and Australian collectors. With painting experience of over 25 years, Janet graduated from Ballarat University majoring in graphic design. Janet’s current works are an indication of her dedication to her passion and her field.

With her connection to nature and the environment Janet's unique personal skills and interpretation she always manages to finish a piece with a unique style all of her own. What sets her apart is the diversity in the expertise as an accomplished, award winning artist  in watercolors, pastels, acrylics and oils.  
Figurative studies and portraits have now become quite the additional love with the expectation that a painting should be felt as well as viewed and appreciated.  Janet's figurative work is filled with passion and with each piece she strives to capture a moment in time full of feeling and light! 
Janet has successfully held numerous solo and shared exhibitions and participates in community exhibitions throughout the year. 
Janet has just completed filming a second episode of Colour In Your Life and as a recent feature artist on the TV program, her work now gets recognition internationally as well as in Australia with the show now airing in many countries.  America, New Zealand, United Kingdom and Australia. 
She truly loves and has a passion for her career which is evident in every aspect of her life.  Janet owns, operates and teaches in her established Melbourne based studio/ Gallery. Her well established classes and workshops keep her busy and invitations to teach workshops in Europe and America are now taking up most of her time   With a steady flow of private commission pieces as well as working on her own paintings for well established Melbourne galleries  Janet's year is continually filling fast with artistic commitments. 
Janet's exhibition schedule is quite busy with solo and shared exhibitions throughout the year and she very much enjoys being invited to demonstrate her techniques at various art societies and galleries across Australia   With an additional enthusiastic “yes” to invitations to be a guest speaker at local educational institutions, inspiring the exploration of creative skills in young people. 
Itinerary
Day 1, Sunday - Arrival in Italy. Our Driver Will Meet You At The Venice Airport Between 9:00 Am And Noon And Drive You To Vittorio Veneto You Will Check-In At Palazzo Galletti B&B Boutique Hotel Or Similar Accommodation. 
Afternoon Walking Guided Tour Of The Historic Centre Of Serravalle, Where You’ll Gain Inspiration From The Renaissance Architecture Which Surrounds The Palazzo. 
Welcome Lunch and Dinner At Palazzo Galletti.
Day 2, Monday - Morning Plein-Air Painting In the historic center of Serravalle.
Optional Walking Tour Of Local Market To Buy Ingredients For The Italian Cooking Lesson for Lunch. Afternoon Plein-Air & Studio Painting.
Evening Open Critique And Discussion.
​Buffet Lunch & Dinner At Palazzo Galletti.
Day 3, Tuesday - Full day Tour & Painting in Venice. Lunch on your own, Dinner At Palazzo Galletti.
Day 4, Wednesday - Full Day Plein-Air Painting In Serravalle Or in the Studio.
Meet In Studio At 6:30 For Voluntary Demo Or Critique Of Day’s Work. Buffet Lunch & Dinner At Palazzo Galletti.
Day 5, Thursday - A second day trip to historic and scenic sites to be determined.
Picnic Lunch. Dinner on your own in town.
Day 6, Friday - Plein-Air Painting In Serravalle Or In Surrounding hills.
Meet In Studio At 6:30pm For Critique Or Voluntary Demo.
Buffet Lunch At Palazzo Galletti and Dinner.
Day 7, Saturday - Plein-Air Painting In Serravalle Or In Surrounding hills.
​Buffet Lunch At Palazzo Galletti and Farewell Group Dinner At Palazzo Galletti.
Sunday - Check Out And Departure To Your Destination.
Group Transfer To Airport.
