Venice Workshop, Fall 2019
                                                                                                      with Marilyn Levin

I will be offering a workshop in Vittorio Veneto, Italy this fall – October 4-10, 2019.  The workshop is aimed at helping painters develop their skills and vision through hands-on tutorials, image presentations, one-on-one instruction, and group discussions.  If you want to intensify your relationship to painting, break old habits, or just plain paint for a week in beautiful surroundings, this course is for you.

The workshop will be held at the Palazzo Galletti, a restored 14thcentury palace, where participants will also be housed and take meals.  As is typical of Italy, the week will be both stimulating and sybaritic!

An added bonus is the Venice Biennale.  Join us for 3 magical days (arriving Sept 30- checking out Oct 3) in Venice, exploring the biennale, the additional exhibitions and the magic of the city.  We are holding rooms under my name for Sept 30- Oct 3 at a fabulous hotel – The Bauer Palazzo. I urge you to reserve ASAP so that you have some choice of room and bed set up. Their policy is a full refund if you cancel before 48 hours of arrival.

We need your registration and a non-refundable deposit of $560 by April 15 to save you a space.  I look forward to your joining us.

Instructor
Marilyn Levin was born in Omaha, Nebraska. After studying with Richard Diebenkorn at UCLA, she moved to Boston where she has taught in the Tufts/Boston Museum School dual degree program for over 25 years.
She has received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Atlantic Center for the Arts, the Sanskriti Foundation, and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
Her work is in the collections of the San Francisco Art Museums, the Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University, the Kresge Collection at Harvard University, The BankAmerica Collection and many corporate and private collections. She has exhibited her work in solo and group shows in New York, San Francisco, Boston, Paris, and New Delhi.
She currently works in Boston and Berkeley, CA. Her work grows out of a concern for painterly abstraction and has long been concerned with color and its relationship to reflective surfaces.
Her most recent work – non-traditional portraits – expresses her strong political reaction to our difficult times.
